Sotheby’s International Realty® has its origins in the English auction house Sotheby’s, established back in 1744. Sotheby’s is known for auctioning extraordinary artwork and valuable antiques with various origins. Today Sotheby’s is the second oldest, still active, auction house in the whole world. Years later, a vision of conveying real estate with the same qualitative customer focus and market knowledge as the auction house offers, but with focus on extraordinary properties instead was born, and in 1977 Sotheby’s International Realty was founded.
